Queenstown, Singapore
Try the good version first.
A rental service in Queenstown for things worth owning but not worth buying yet — a smart guitar, a Brompton, a winter coat, an electric car. Live with the good version for a week and find out whether you actually want it, without the money or the cupboard space.
Most items are held with a deposit on your card, released in full when they come back in the condition they left in.
How it works
- Pick a date. Message us on Carousell to check it is free.
- Book it. Pay the deposit here, or book on the item's own platform where it has one — each item says which.
- Collect in Queenstown. We’ll send the exact spot when you book.
- Bring it back. Deposit released in full.
The items
LiberLive smart guitar
The guitar with no strings to fret. Press a pad, get a chord — so somebody who has never played gets a song out of it on the first evening, and somebody who has can take it on a trip without worrying about the neck.
S$18 / day
Holding deposit S$400
Good for: A trip, a party, deciding whether you actually want one.
Bluetooth speaker built in, so it needs no amp.
Comes with the gig bag and a charging cable.
Brompton C Line
In fire coral, because it was the colour they had and it turns out to be the right one. Folds small enough for a taxi boot, an MRT carriage, or under a café table.
S$30 / 6 hoursS$70 / 24 hoursS$400 / week
Holding deposit S$1,500
Good for: Park connectors, a week of car-free commuting, trying one before you buy one.
Winter coat
Goose down with a hood, rated for roughly −5 °C to 10 °C. For the one week a year a Singaporean needs one. If you get attached to it, you can buy it off us.
S$3 / dayS$18 / week
Holding deposit S$180
Good for: A cold trip you are not going to repeat often enough to justify buying.
28" luggage
The big one, with four wheels that actually spin. Sized for up to a month away.
S$3 / dayS$18 / week
Holding deposit S$180
Good for: The trip where your usual case is one size too small.
BYD e6 — electric
Booked through Drive lah, which handles the insurance, the licence checks and the payment. This page is for the things Drive lah does not tell you: where to collect it, where to charge it, and what to do if something is odd.
Good for: A weekend out of town, an airport run, trying an EV before buying one.
Insurance, deposit and licence checks are Drive lah's, not ours — their terms apply.
About the deposit
We place a hold on your card rather than charging it. The money stays yours — your bank shows it as pending, and nothing is actually taken. Bring the item back in the condition it went out in and the hold is released in full.
It is there for the one case where something is lost or damaged, which almost never happens. It is not a fee, and there is nothing to claim back.
Questions people actually ask
- Can I extend?
Message us on Carousell before the return time. Usually yes.
- Why is the car booked somewhere else?
The BYD is listed on Drive lah, which handles insurance and licence checks — worth having for a car. Everything else is booked here.
- What if it rains and I do not use it?
The Brompton has mudguards. The rate is for the time, not the weather.
- What if I break something?
Tell us. Small wear is expected and is not what the deposit is for.
